LaVerne Wolfe

LaVerne Wolfe, 92, of Gatesville, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in Gatesville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Wolfe was born on August 22, 1916 Coryell City to the late Albert and Laura Newland Lee. She attended school in Mosheim and later married Bryant Wolfe in March of 1936 in Gatesville. They lived in Gatesville until 1958 before moving to Temple where they made their home. She was a faithful member of Heights Baptist Church in Temple for over 45 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryant in 2002; three sisters and two sons, Don Wolfe and Jerry Wolfe. Mrs. Wolfe is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Ashcraft and husband Jim of Joshua, Pat Krueger and husband Garland of Temple; daughter-in-law, Louise Wolfe of Waco; brothers, David Lee of Gatesville, Walter Lee and wife, Helen of Waco, Nelson Lee and wife Joanne of Gatesville; grandchildren, Rick Wolfe of Salinas, CA, Angela Reynolds and husband Ted of Cleburne, Melody Armstrong and husband Roger of Cleburne, Rhonda Battreall and husband Van of Waco, Dennis Nickell of Ft. Worth, Rodney Wolfe and companion Greg Sweazy of North Richland Hills, Heidi Todd and husband Joe of Cleburne, Tonya Coley and husband Chris of Austin; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
