Virgil Ray Henson

Virgil Ray Henson, 77, of Gatesville, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2009. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Post Oak Cemetery in Oglesby. No visitation is scheduled. Virgil was born on August 14, 1931 to the late Lee and Edna Owens Henson. He grew up and spent his life in Gatesville. He married Margaret Mallard on November 9, 1954. He was an employee for Coryell County, working at the Cotton Gin for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Christine Key, Bodie Key, Thelma Quicksall, Mamie Benner and brothers, W.L. Henson, Troy Henson, Roy Henson, and R.B. Henson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret Henson of Gatesville; daughters, Linda Carr of Gatesville, Barbara Hanah of Copperas Cove, Clara Henson of Waco, Shera Henson of Gatesville, Debbie Henson of Gatesville, Becky King of North Brookfield, NY; sons, Virgil Henson of Gatesville, Kenneth Henson of Gatesville, and Terry Henson of Gatesville; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
