Jodie Edwards, age 76, of Gatesville died Thursday, July 31, 2015 at his residence. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 3, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Lieutenant General Rick Lynch, US Army (Retired) officiating. Jodie was born on June 8, 1939 in Gatesville, Texas to O.Q. Edwards and Hazel Tatum Edwards. He married Martha Cockerham Palmer on October 25, 2003. He worked as a roughneck in the oil fields. He was an avid fisherman, arrowhead hunter, and antique collector. He loved the outdoors! He was happiest going to flea markets, camping, and fishing with his wife, Martha. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Edwards; and sister, Faye Edwards Crawford. Jodie is survived by his wife of 13 years, Martha Edwards; two sons, Donnie Edwards of Waco and Kenny Edwards and wife, Marisela of Waco; two step-daughters, Jacquelyn Boyet and husband, Jeff of Oklahoma and Janet High of Flat; three grandchildren, Melina Edwards, Teresa High, and Jack High; three brothers, Kenneth Edwards and wife, Carolyn of Odessa, Billy Edwards and wife, Gwenda of Gatesville, and Ollie Edwards and wife, Betty of Gatesville; three sisters, Effie Armer of Gatesville, Lillie Stovall of Gatesville, and Nancy Cole and husband, Jack of Gatesville; and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
