Nattie Ray "Rusty" Day

N.R. Day, age 87, of the Izoro Community passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at Adams Cemetery in Burkett, Texas. Visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the funeral home. N.R. was born on October 3, 1927 in Burkett, Texas to the late Clarence Day and Katy Key Day. He attended school in Burkett. He married Patsy Ruth Aiken on March 3, 1949 in Coleman, Texas. He loved working in the oil field in his younger days and enjoyed ranching and farming in the Izoro Community later in life. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers and 3 sisters. N. R. is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patsy Ruth Day; sons, Earl Don Day and wife, Ronda of Izoro, Vernon Ray Day and wife, Janice of McCamey, Texas; grandchildren, Steven Don Day of Harker Heights, April Ann Day of Lawton, OK; great grandson, Christopher Steven Day of Lawton, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
