Dorothy "Dot" Shuemake

Dot Shuemake, 82, of Gatesville passed away in Glen Rose, TX on Friday, September 11, 2015. Graveside Services will be Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 3-5 PM at the funeral home. Dot was born on May 28, 1933 in Athens, Texas to the late Ethan and Lillie Green Melton. She married Luther Shuemake on August 8, 1953 in Athens, TX. Dot was a faithful homemaker who cared for her family and especially her grandchildren. Dot was a member of the First Baptist Church of Glen Rose. She loved to garden, sew and joke around with her grandchildren. Dot was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Ernest Bob Shuemake; four brothers; 3 sisters; and three grandchildren. Dot is survived by her children, Jene Bankhead of Glen Rose, Maggie Loper of Glen Rose, Donald Shuemake and wife, Sara of Heneritta, TX, Marsha Anderson of Austin, Cindy Grimes and husband, Danny of Gatesville, TX, Adam Shuemake and wife, Lana of Glen Rose, Ruth Rabb and husband, Herman of Germany; 25 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
