Jan Dyer

Jan Dyer age 65 of Gatesville, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Coryell Community Church, with Rev. Bruce Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Walker Cemetery in Ft. Hood. There will be no set time for visitation, the family welcomes anyone to visit them at their home at 422 Ranier Rd. Jan was born on August 7, 1950 in Gatesville, to the late Ray Lewis and Jannette Buster Dyer. He grew up and went to school in Gatesville. He married Sharon Robbins on March 18, 1968. He was a carpenter, framing houses until his retirement, when he started custom farming. Jan loved his family, he never met a stranger and was a friend to anyone that knew him. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Emmett and Doug Dyer. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; daughter, Lisa Washburn and husband, Eric; sons, Waylon Dyer and Stephen Dyer and wife, Lauren; sister, Brenda Shoults; brother, Bill Tom Dyer; six grandchildren, Laynie, Lauren, Mason and Hayden Dyer, Zane and Evan Washburn; and one great grandson, Vayden Keen.
