Lola May Hale

Lola May Hale, age 72, of Gatesville passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Bogan officiating. Burial will follow at Ater Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral service. Lola was born on January 14, 1943 in Gatesville, Texas to Prentice Bray and Lola Honeycutt Bray. She attended school in Gatesville. She married Robert Ray Hale on March 17, 1960. She worked for Gulf States United, Southwestern Bell and retired from AT & T after 30 years of service. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed doll collecting and was a pet lover. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; parents; and brother, Chester Bray. Lola is survived by her sons, Robert Ray Hale, Jr. of Austin and Billy Charles Hale and wife, Cindy of Turnersville; daughter, Belinda Hale Ireland of Gatesville; seven grandchildren, David Heath Bruton, Jared Alan Bruton, Tannon Shane Bruton, Elizabeth Ireland, Kari Lyn Carothers, Brandi Leigh Hale, and Dustin Wade Hale; and 11 great-grandchildren.
