Bobby D. Hodges, Sr.

Bobby D. Hodges, Sr., age 75, of Gatesville passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, with Minister Deral McWhorter officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery. There is no set time for visitation. Bobby was born on March 23, 1940 in McGregor. He was the son of the late Raymond Hodges and Athleen Blanchard Thompson. He graduated from McGregor High School in 1958. He married Beth Ferguson on August 3, 1962. He later graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1978, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for over 30 years and retired in 1994 as Captain. He taught at Central Texas College for many years and was the department head in the Criminal Justice Department. He also served in the Texas Army National Guard for over 20 years He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Hodges. Bobby is survived by his wife, Beth Hodges; daughter, Lisa Hodges and husband Curt; son, Bobby D. Hodges, Jr. and wife, Vanessa; three grandchildren, Curtis Hodges, Jr., Larisa Hardie and Bobby D. Hodges, III; and three great-grandchildren, Stormi, Peyton and Sophia Hardie.
