Nora Jo Kirchmeier

Nora "Jo" Kirchmeier went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday morning, November 16, 2015 at the age of 91. Funeral services will be held at Scott's Funeral Home, 2435 E Main St in Gatesville, TX on Thursday, November 19 at 2 p.m. with a viewing and visitation at 1:00 p.m. A private burial will follow at Gatesville City Cemetery. Jo was born on March 10, 1924 in King, TX to Joe and Cora (Pruett) Blacklock, she was the youngest of six children. She met Earl Kirchmeier in House, NM and married him on November 3, 1941 in Tucumcari, NM, he preceded her in death in January 1995. They raised two boys in Alamagorda, NM and returned to Gatesville in 1961. Jo worked at Fort Hood as a civil service employee for 13 years. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, one brother, and one grandson. She is survived by her two sons, Milton and wife, Peggy of Belton, TX and Leon and wife, Betty of Arlington, TX; three grandsons, Ray and wife, Laurie of Belton, John of Elgin, and Curtis and wife, Angie of Arlington, TX; and one granddaughter, Jana and husband, Greg of Las Vegas, NM; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was a blessing to many and shared her faith in Jesus Christ with all she met. She was a faithful member of Westview Missionary Baptist Church, 1102 W. Main St, Gatesville, TX 76528 and requests memorials be made to Missions there.
