Edward John Pietraszek

Eddie Pietraszek, 88, of Gatesville passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009 in Gatesville. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the Masonic Cemetery in Gatesville. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 prior to the service at the funeral home. Eddie was born on February 9, 1921 to the late John and Victoria Pietraszek in Turners Falls, MA. In 1941, he joined the Army and served until 1954 during WW II and Korea. He was honorable discharged at Fort Hood. Eddie became an upholster working for many years. He met his wife Betty Rutherford while stationed at Fort Hood and they have been married over 70 years. Eddie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gatesville and the Gatesville Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and a sister. Eddie is survived by his wife, Betty Pietraszek; nephews, Joe Kopec, Stan Kopec, Parker Howard, Eddie Haynes, Doug Underhill; nieces, Cindy Haynes, Jackie Howard and Judy Underhill and a sister, Annie Legre.
