Johnnie Winchell, age 77, of Gatesville passed away Monday, November 2, 2015. A private service with family and friends will be held. Johnnie was born on September 14, 1938 in Sparkman, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Johnny Crutcher and Zola Green Crutcher. She attended school in Hot Springs, and graduated with honors from an area high school. She was voted the Sweetheart Queen at her senior prom. She married her sweetheart, Leon Winchell, in 1982. She worked in the customer relations and operations industry, retiring after 36 years. Johnnie enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, canning, shopping, listening to her favorite gospel and Elvis Presley songs, and watching her favorite western tv shows. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Winchell; son, Burnes Hayes Duff II; and sisters, Bertie Ann Breshears and Clarice Crutcher. Johnnie is survived by her daughters, Kelly Nichols Bryant of Gatesville, Leatha Angel of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Julie Wolfe of Jessup, Georgia; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
