Kenneth Brown

Kenneth Brown, age 85, of Gatesville passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 23, 2015 at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Kenneth was born on August 4, 1930 in Jonesboro, Texas to the late Henry Milton Brown and Eva Gertrude Marshall Brown. He attended school in Evant and graduated from Lampasas High School. He entered the U.S. Army, and served in Korea. In 1978, he married Nita Jo Manning, and they enjoyed 37 years together. He was a lifetime rancher and sports fan. He owned and operated Kenneth Brown Construction Company for over 50 years. He was a Mason and a member of the Gatesville V.F.W. Kenneth attended Cedar Ridge Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Geraldine Brown Evans, Quida Brown Green, Mildred Brown Parrish, and Nadine Brown Thorne; and four brothers, James Arelon Brown, Harold Milton Brown, Bob Lee Brown, and Ray Van Brown. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nita Jo Brown; son, Kenneth E. Brown II and wife, Mary of Allen, Texas; daughter, Cindy Miles of Gatesville; stepson, Ted Caufield and wife, Faye of Honey Grove; brothers, Morris Brown and wife, Bonnie and Billy Mac Brown and wife, Linda; sister, Polly Brown Cummings; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
