Robert Stevens Fore

Robert Stevens Fore, age 72, of Gatesville passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his home in Gatesville, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 11, 2015 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Steve was born on December 23, 1942 to Zack S. and Jean W. Fore in Brownwood, Texas. He was a member of the Mountain Baptist Church in Gatesville. He was a 1961 graduate of Gatesville High School and continued his education, graduating from Tarleton State University in 1965. While attending Tarleton, he was a member of their ROTC and later enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as Captain. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. He was employed as the City Manager of Gatesville from 1975 to 1978. He later retired from Fort Hood Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Zack and Jean Fore. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his best friend and soul mate of 15 years, Janet Evetts; her son, Corey Evetts and wife, Ashleye Evetts and their twins, Layla and Rayleigh Evetts, who Steve proudly claimed as his “granddaughters.” Steve loved God and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, Christian behavior, and wise counsel. He will truly be missed by his family and all those he touched.
