Henry Louis Stoll, 86, of Gatesville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 6, 2009. Henry died peacefully in a local nursing home accompanied by those he loved and who loved him. A service of celebration of Henry’s life is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Crosby officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Henry was born on December 14, 1922 to the late Alfred A. and Malinda Steinkamp Stoll at Elm Mott, TX. They, along with his sister Esther, moved to Coryell County in 1937 and were farmers for many years. Henry and Esther both contracted polio in 1940 and struggled for many years with severe disabilities. During WWII Henry worked for Arrow Coach Lines, Gatesville ISD and Bauman Grocery for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Esther Marie Stoll. They all resided in Gatesville. Henry was a member of First Baptist church of Gatesville for 50 years. He leaves behind a host of friends and family. Henry is survived by several cousins, including John Fowler and his wife Doris, and their children, Linda, Carole and Victor. Flowers are for the living, so the family has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial gifts be made to The American Cancer Society, Gatesville First Baptist Church, or the charity of your choice.
