Voncille Turner Hudson

Voncille Turner Hudson, age 98, of Caldwell died on Monday, December 14, 2015. Private graveside services will be held. Voncille was born in the Arnett Community of Coryell County, Texas on August 23, 1917. Her deceased parents were Emmett and Minnie Turner of the Purmela Community. She went to school in Arnett and Gatesville, graduating in 1934 from Gatesville High School. She married Ernest Hudson on November 19, 1939. Ernest died Christmas Day, December 25, 1991. She lived in Coryell County most of her life, but she and Ernest, who was a builder and developer, also lived in Corpus Christi, Houston, Bay City, Lubbock, and Waco. Voncille was the Gatesville School Tax Assessor and Collector for a few years. She also worked at the Gatesville State School for Boys. She was a member of the Purmela Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also preceded in death by her son, Rusty Hudson in 2005; and her sister, Pauline Herrington in 2005. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Hoppe and husband, Charles of Gause, Texas; and two brothers, Donald K. Turner of Kerrville, Texas and Lynn D. Turner of McKinney, Texas.
