Tom S. Miller, age 74, of Gatesville passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Gatesville. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 on Tuesday, January 12 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Tom was born February 2, 1941 in Gatesville, TX. He was the son of the late Roger H. and Norma Lee Miller. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1959 and Texas Tech University in 1963. Tom was married to the love of his life, Barbara Terrell Miller, May 2, 1998 and they resided in Pancake. Tom moved to Houston to work for Texaco and returned to Gatesville in 1966 taking over the family business as the Gulf Consignee Distributor and Gulf Serve-U-Center service station. Tom also worked for the Texas Department of Corrections for 11 years. He was Past President of the Gatesville Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Gatesville Lions Club, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was involved with the Gatesville Little League and loved the game of golf. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob Miller. He loved his family and is survived by his wife, Barbara Terrell Miller; sons, Scott Miller and Todd Miller and wife, Jamie; daughter, Margaret Deats and husband Stephen; daughter, Jacqueline Gohlke and husband, Randy; grandchildren, Nikki, Shauna, Danielle, Steen, Jake, Isabelle, Logan, Jack, William, Reid, and Luke; sister, Ann Baugh of Brownwood; and brother, Roger Miller of Sante Fe, NM. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 2600 E. Main St., Gatesville, TX 76528.
