Dan Tomlinson, age 60, of Gatesville passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church in Gatesville, with Rev. Tim Crosby officiating. Dan was born on February 3, 1955 in Audubon, Iowa to Charles Tomlinson and Joyce Jorgensen Tomlinson. He graduated from Spencer High School in Spencer, Iowa in 1975. He received a Small Engine Repair and Automotive Parts Certificate of Completion from Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He also received a Food Service/Culinary Arts/Meat Processing certification from Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas. He resided in Gatesville for 20 years. He worked as a cook for Professional Con at North Fort Hood for 13 years. Dan’s favorite pastime was attending estate and private sales. He was a collector of many things and loved finding unusual items. He loved all his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all of them. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, uncle, and a cousin. Dan is survived by his mother, Joyce Beasley of Gatesville; three brothers, Eric Lynn Tomlinson and wife, Kimberly of Spencer, Iowa, Arnold Lee Tomlinson and fiancé, Hilda Cano of Edinburg, Texas, and Ronald Dean Tomlinson of McAllen, Texas; two nieces, Heather Tomlinson Gustoff of Spencer, Iowa and Lindsey Tomlinson of Hamburg, Iowa; two nephews, Jeremy Tomlinson and wife, Claudia of Mission, Texas and Boone Tomlinson of Spencer, Iowa; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and two great-great-nieces. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
