Charlotte Cheatham

Charlotte Cheatham, age 98, of Turnersville passed away Friday, January 22, 2016. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Turnersville Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Charlotte was born on February 28, 1917 in the Pecan Grove community of Coryell County on the Davidson Home Place. She was the daughter of the late O.M. Davidson and Waldean Hearn Davidson. She worked for A.S.C.S. for 20 years and was the first woman to be elected to the A.S.C.S. Committee. She married Boyd B. Cheatham on October 26, 1940. They resided in the Turnersville community farming and ranching most of their married life. She had many passions including her family, crocheting, needle pointing, gardening, cooking, baking, sewing for everyone, and volunteering at her church and the hospital. She worked many years with the Turnersville Cemetery Association and was treasurer of the memorial fund. She also worked as a voter registration clerk and was a part of a N.B.C. network news voting poll. Charlotte was loved and admired by all who were blessed to have her in their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd; and their son, Larry B. Cheatham. Charlotte is survived by many loved ones, family, and friends.
