Marilyn Ann Locke

Marilyn Ann Locke, age 69, of Gatesville passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2016. A memorial service will be held pending arrangements. Marilyn was born on November 6, 1946 to A.V. and Lea Freeman, Jr. in Sacramento, CA. In 1966, she married Isidro J.N. Lacayo of Diriamba, Nicaragua; the marriage ended in divorce in 1968. In 1977, she married Terry L. Locke of Muskegon, MI; the marriage ended in 1994 with his death from a heart attack. Marilyn’s lifetime took her to many places including California, Japan, New Hampshire, Texas, and New Mexico. She had a degree in Geology from Sul Ross State University and her work encompassed many roles including surveyor, geologist, computer programmer, geophysicist and horticulturalist. For the past two-and-a-half decades, Marilyn was the manager for Gatesville Storage and E.E. Lowery Real Estate in Gatesville, Texas, where she became an integral part of the business. Marilyn is survived by her son, Albert Freeman; her sister, Cynthia Smith; her cousins, Sherry Birdsong and Keith Ballard; and several beloved cats, a dog and a list of friends too numerous to name.
