Claudine Marie Derrick

Claudine Marie Derrick, age 94, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Restland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Claudine was born on September 20, 1921 on the farm in Coryell County, Texas to William Fredrick (Fritz) Buth and Leta Haase Buth. She lived on a three generation farm/ranch. She raised three children, had a one acre garden, raised cattle and chickens, had deer hunters out to her property, as well as sold eggs and cream. She lived a Christian life and was a Baptist. Claudine enjoyed helping her children and neighbors, especially baking homemade bread and cooking for them. In her later years, she enjoyed talking on the phone, sewing, raising chickens, cooking, gardening, and listening to the Hamilton radio station. She loved baseball, especially Nolan Ryan. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, E.J. (Dub) Derrick; and brother, Carl Buth. Claudine is survived by her children, Evelyn Derrick Reph, Ellen Derrick Southland Martin, and James Ronnie Derrick; grandchildren, Jason Derrick, Matthew Derrick, Shannon Reph McDonald, and Jason Southerland; great-grandson, Brayden McDonald; sister, Christine Osborn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
