Juanita Bruton, 87, of Killeen passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016 in Copperas Cove. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. Burial will follow at Flint Creek Cemetery. Juanita was born on November 14, 1928 to the late L.B. and Laura Wigham Tippit. She graduated from Flat High School in 1946 with honors. Juanita married Archie Leroy Bruton in 1947 after he came home from serving in WW II. They lived most of their married life in Killeen. They were active in square dancing in Central Texas for over 30 years. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and seamstress, designing matching dresses for her girls. She truly enjoyed raising her children, spending time with her family and working in her garden. Juanita also loved playing the piano and made sure her girls could play as well learning from hymn books. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Archie Bruton, two brothers, Barney Tippit and James Tippit; and an infant daughter, Gwendolyn Bruton. Juanita is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Hord and husband, Joe, Cynthia White and ex-husband, Mike White, Jeannie Bruton and husband, Dave Hamlin; brother, Feno Tippit; grandchildren, Joshua Buck, B.J. Cole and husband, T.J., Michael “ Dusty” White and wife Vanessa, Kyle Hamlin and two great-grandchildren, Alvah Cole and Ethan Stone White.
