Robert Lewis Brown, Sr.

Robert Lewis Brown, Sr. passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at his home in Gatesville, Texas, surrounded by family. Mr. Brown was born on July 16, 1929 in Waco, Texas to Alfred Brown, Sr. and Hilda Brown. He graduated from A.J. Moore High School in Waco, Texas. His favorite hobbies were playing dominoes and fishing. He was active at Sweet Home Baptist Church and in the community. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 39 years, Naomi Brown; and his daughter, Robbie Clarke. He leaves to mourn: daughters, Rachel Brown, Paulette Knox, and Sondra Gilbert; sons, Robert Brown, Jr., Lawrence Brown, and Ronald Brown; long-time friend, Mertha Lewis; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Mr. Brown’s homegoing service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the funeral home.
