Stony Keith Spence, age 59, of Victoria, Kansas, formerly Gatesville, died Sunday, April 3, 2016. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2016, at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville, with burial to follow at Jonesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday at Scott's Funeral Home 2425 E. Main, Gatesville, Texas. Stony Keith was born on December 12, 1956 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He passed away peacefully early Sunday morning. Stony loved to spend time with his daughter, Kelsey Ellen. He also enjoyed singing and playing guitar, and entertained his many family members and friends on countless occasions. He was humble and genuine-a truly simple man who simply loved life. His loud, infectious laughter drew people toward him, no matter the situation. Stony was preceded in death by his father, Reb Trueitt Spence; and grandparents, Stony and Annie Bell Hammock of Gatesville and Austin and Mae Spence of Gatesville. He is survived by his daughter, Kelsey Spence; mother, Lucy Spence; siblings, Robert Spence of Dallas and Paula Hoppe of California; his longtime companion, Joyce Gregory, her son, Jason Gregory. He was known as Grandpa Stony to Damien and Aria Gregory, all of Victoria, Kansas; as well as many cousins, nieces and a lifetime of friends. He touched so many lives and will be missed.
