Janet F. Ayres lost her battle with cancer the morning of Friday, May 15, 2009. Janet was born July 15, 1953 in Long Beach, California. She grew up in the DFW area where she met the love of her life, Loney Ayres, Sr. They were married August 30, 1970 shortly after her 17th birthday.. She was the proud mother of 3 boys, Loney, Jr of Nashville, TN, Scott (married to Lisa) of Houston, TX and Corey (married to Alicia) of Gatesville, TX. The family moved from DFW to Flat in May of 1982 and have resided there ever since. Janet was by choice a stay at home mom, but did work for a number of years at Wal-Mart in Gatesville and was the relief Post Master General at the Flat Post Office after her sons graduated from High School. She is survived by 6 grandchildren, Loney’s boys are Coltin, Landin and Austin. Scott’s girls are Madison and Macee. Corey’s son is Conner. Janet and Loney spent every spare weekend the past decade at the casinos in Shreveport and loved to play the slots and enjoy a weekend away.. Her dream was to go to Vegas and she was able to do so in the Summer of 2006. The last 4-5 years of her life she spent taking care of her husband, Loney, who suffered a massive stroke in March of 2004. She admittedly had the loudest mouth in Texas and was proud of it!! She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and fan of General Hospital. There will be a small gathering to honor her life at Mountain Baptist Church Sunday, May 17th at 3pm. There will be no graveside services. Per Janet’s request she will be cremated. The family would like to express a huge thank you to VistaCare Hospice and especially Penny for giving her dignity and respect this past year of her illness. In lieu of flowers Janet’s boys ask that you make a donation in Janet’s honor to Odyssey VistaCare Hospice Foundation Sharon Anderson - Executive Director 717 N.
