Royal Gene Minshew

Royal (Rocky) Minshew, age 88, of Gatesville passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Rocky was born on October 12, 1927 in Sweetwater, Texas to the late John Henry Minshew and Emma Redden Minshew. He married Alma Ellen Stuteville on March 19, 1953. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and in the US Army during the Korean War. Rocky was a Civil Service employee at Fort Hood until his retirement. He was a Mason. He was preceded in death by his son, Gene Minshew; parents; three brothers; and five sisters. Rocky is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alma Minshew; daughter, Bridget Wiesler; sons, Mark Minshew and wife, Mary and Stephen Minshew and wife, Renee; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
