Linda Joan Dyer

Linda Joan Dyer, age 67, of Purmela passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Graveside memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at Smith Cemetery in Purmela with Rev. Jess McCabe officiating. Linda was born on February 19, 1949 in Gatesville, Texas to Horace Dyer and Hazel Laxson Dyer. She graduated from Gatesville High School. Linda worked for the US Postal Service for many years as a Postmaster. She loved animals and volunteered for Huts for Mutts in Hamilton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Hazel Dyer; brother, Robert “Bobby” H. Dyer; and sister-in-law, Bettie C. Dyer. Linda leaves behind one nephew, Rob Dyer; two nieces, Kim Dyer and Jenifer Smith; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; and cousins, Pam and Jerry Hatridge and Glen Laxson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Purmela Baptist Church, P.O. Box 159, Purmela, TX 76566.
