Amanda Thompson Carver

Amanda Brooke Thompson Carver, age 41, of McGregor, passed away on Friday May 27, 2016 from complications related to lupus. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Moody, 500 E. 6th St., with Pastor Joshua Pruett officiating. Burial will follow at Pidcoke Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 30, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville. Amanda was born January 15, 1975 in Austin, Texas to George and Linda McLeod Thompson. She was a 1993 honor graduate of Lorena High School. She was a faithful and loyal friend, daughter, sister, and mother. She loved her family dearly and was very proud of her beautiful children. Her daughter, Raven, was born on October 27, 1999 and her son, Robert, on May 27, 2002. Unfortunately, she passed away on his fourteenth birthday. She was preceded in death by her deeply loved little brother, Lucas Spencer Thompson in 2007; grandparents, Ed and Patsy Walker Thompson, Willis and Hedwig McLeod; cousins, Randy Russell, Jessica McLeod, and Karen Thompson; aunts, Denise Thompson and Lorene Yeaman; and uncles, Jessie Collins and Kenneth Thompson. She is survived by her children, Raven Allene Carver and Robert George Lucas Carver, both of McGregor; parents, George and Linda Thompson of Moody; life partner, Guthrie Lowe of McGregor; aunts, Evelyn Pollard and husband, Paul, Bobbie Thompson, Bonnie Hopkins and husband, David, Shari Russell, Lisa Collins; uncles, Rick Thompson and wife, Corrine, Tim Yeaman, Mike Thompson and wife, Diana, Barry McLeod and wife, Lee; father of her children, Jeff Carver; and a host of relatives and friends.
