Frances Cornelia Foote

Frances Cornelia Foote, age 81 of Turnersville, formerly of Houston, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Gatesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, with Rev. Ted Foote officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at the Turnersville Cemetery. She was born on Sept. 8, 1934 in Turnersville, to the late Nathaniel (Mud) and Mabel Pancake Foote. She grew up in Turnersville and graduated from Turnersville High School in 1952. As a child, she joined the Unity Presbyterian Church of Turnersville and remained devoted and passionate about it throughout her lifetime. She attended the University of Texas in Austin and earned a degree in Business Administration. She was a member of the PHI MU Sorority. After her college graduation, she moved to Houston in 1956 and began to work for Tenneco, Inc. She worked as the Executive Administrative Assistant to Wilton E. Scott, CEO and President, most of her professional career, retiring after 41 years in 1997. She was the President in 2003 of the Tenneco Inc. Retiree Club. She was an active member of the Exchange Club in Houston. She was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Houston, where she attended the Voyagers Sunday School Class and Women of Grace Circle 7. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, watching and attending sporting events, especially the Longhorns and horse racing. She is survived by her brother, Sonny Foote and wife, Paula of Turnersville; nephews, Than Foote and wife Traci, Joe Foote and wife, Crystal; five great nieces and nephews, Hallie, Wade, Bracy, Truett and Pate; and her “Many Friends”.
