Floy Faye Swartz, age 86 of Gatesville, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 in Temple. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, with Pastor Randy Aly officiating. Mrs. Swartz was born on August 9, 1929 in Wellington, Texas to the late Fred and Hattie Black Bell. She grew up and went to school in Wellington. She moved to Eunice, New Mexico and met and married Dean Swartz on December 11, 1959. They were longtime residents of Jal, New Mexico and moved to Jonesboro in 2015. She was a lifetime Baptist. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Sid, Gib, Dub, her twin brother, Roy, Richard, Dee, and Mona. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dean Swartz; daughter, Vickie Reynolds and husband, Joe; son, Wendell New and wife, Lorinda; sisters, Erma Smith and husband, Bill and Lou McKinley and husband, Don; three grandchildren, Caralisa, Wendy and Erin; three great-grandchildren, Shayden, Jaycee and Piper; and her cherished dog, Toy. The family would like to acknowledge her beloved friends, Delores Akin and Edna Branin. Memorials may be made to the Big Sting, 3417 Imperial Dr., Gatesville, TX 76528.
