Tribble Shepherd

Tribble Campbell Shepherd, age 97 of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 in Gatesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home in Gatesville, with Larry C. McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Gatesville City Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 22nd at the funeral home. Mrs. Shepherd was born on Sept. 13, 1918 in Levita, Texas to the late Daniel Ivy (D.I.) and Leoma Rogers Campbell. She grew up in Gatesville and graduated from Gatesville High School in 1936. She married C.C. (Snooks) Shepherd in 1939. She worked for Coryell County for 30 years in the County Clerk’s office and served as the County Clerk for 15 of those years. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 84 years and was the longest continuous member. She was active in the Dorcas and Honeycutt Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Senior Ladies Golf Association at the Gatesville Country Club and the Gatesville Thursday Ladies Bridge Club. She was affectionately known by many as “Bubbles”. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years in 2005, C.C. (Snooks) Shepherd; brothers, Charles R. Campbell, Weldon D.I. Campbell. She is survived by her sons, Charlie Shepherd and wife, Rhonda, Danny Shepherd and wife, Cheri; five grandchildren, Jimmy Shepherd, David Shepherd and wife, Darla, Terri Shepherd Castro and husband, Frank, Tony Shepherd and wife, Kelly, Kimberly Demel and husband, Eric; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Gatesville, 912 E. Main Street, Gatesville, TX 76528.
