Joe D. Worthington

Joe D. Worthington, age 75, of Gatesville passed away Monday, July 4, 2016. Graveside services will be held 10:00a.m., Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Restland Cemetery. Joe Dan was born on September 26, 1940 in the Henson Creek area of Coryell County. He was born to the late Clyde and Syble Gray Worthington. Joe Dan started school in the Mound Community, and moved to Gatesville after the fifth grade. He graduated from Gatesville High School in 1959. Joe Dan married Patricia Featherston in 1963, and she preceded him in death in 1973. He was a cattle rancher for the majority of his life. Joe Dan married Brenda Stewart in 1995. He loved sports, especially football. Joe Dan was an avid Gatesville Hornet fan. He would follow and support the team and his grandkids anywhere. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Brenda Worthington. Joe is survived by his daughters, Tracy Sweitzer, Christie Romero and husband, Jose; son, Kenny Hancock and wife, Miranda; grandchildren, Taylor Sweitzer, Marcus Romero and wife, Ashlee, Matthew and Mikhael Romero, and Blake and Sydne Hancock; and great-grandchild, Noah Romero.
