Oleta Mariott

Oleta Mariott, age 94, of Pearl passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the funeral home. Oleta was born on June 18, 1922 in Izora, Texas to the late John Upton and Della Reese Upton. She attended school in Unity and graduated from Pearl High School. Oleta married Fred D. Mariott on June 20, 1942. After her husband’s discharge from the military in 1946, they moved to the Pearl community, where they lived all their married life. She attended Peabody Primitive Baptist Church. Oleta is survived by her husband of 74 years, Fred D. Mariott; sons, Rickey Mariott of Cleburne and Randy Mariott of Houston; three grandchildren, Wesley Mariott, Russell Mariott, and Susan Corley; and seven great-grandchildren.
