Dorothy Lee Edwards

Dorothy Edwards, 88, of Waco, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2009 in Waco. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 29, 2009 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Clarke officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Dorothy was born on April 28, 1921 in Coryell County near Mother Neff Park to the late Loyd and Dollie Howe. She married Elton (Red) Edwards on January 22, 1939 and they made their home in Gatesville. Dorothy served in the Army during WW II and a surgical technician and was always proud that she served our country. Dorothy also owned and operated Casual Fashion, a dress shop in Gatesville for a number of years. In 2003 she moved to Greenview Manor in Waco where she received excellent care by the staff that she grew to love. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, David Paul Edwards; sisters, Willie Ruth Guthrie, Dauththula Walker; brothers, Loyd Howe, Jr. and Joe Howe. Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Jeneva Kattner and Jeneta Young both of Waco; grandsons, Joshua Ryan Edwards and Justin Britt Edwards and several nieces and nephews.
