Myrlene Doss Hopkins

Myrlene Doss Hopkins, age 88, of Temple died on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells. She was born May 17, 1928 to Claude Otto Doss and Bessie Maude Brooks Doss in Graham, Texas. She married James A. (Jack) Hopkins, Jr. in Mineral Wells on October 1, 1946. When Jack became a Methodist minister, she became a minister’s wife in the truest sense. Myrlene was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers, and five sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Jacque Hopkins of Temple and Pam Johnson and husband, Leo of Belton; siblings, Richard Doss and wife, Gina of Carbon and Barbee Doss of Colorado; two grandsons, Jay Miller and Brandon Miller and wife, Denice, both of Temple; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite charity in her name.
