Bobby Hobgood

Bobby Hobgood, age 79, of Gatesville passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 in Gatesville. No services are scheduled per his request. Bobby was born on January 4, 1937 to the late Tally and Lois McClendon Hobgood in Franklin, LA. He joined the United States Army in 1954. During his time in the Army, he served in France, where he met Andree Pottiez and they later married on July 20, 1957 in La Pouliguen, France. They came back to the states and settled in Abilene, Texas in 1969. In 1991, they moved to Gatesville where he was the plant manager for Walls Manufacturing and retired in 2001. After his retirement, he enjoyed being on Lake Belton where they had a house boat at Cedar Ridge. Bobby will be remembered for living out his wedding vows to the fullest and they carried them through till the end. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Bobby is survived by his wife, Ann Hobgood; children, Eleonor Hollingsworth and husband, Johnny, Gwen Kennedy and husband, James, Tim Hobgood and wife, Teresa, Tammy Rodriguez and husband, Jose, Courtney Hobgood and wife, Jacquie; brother, Charles Hobgood; sister, Shirley Lang; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
