Marilynn Coalston

Marilynn Jean Balzen Holden Coalston, age 58, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Marilynn was born on July 3, 1958 in Gatesville, Texas to Eddie Balzen and Pat Holland Balzen. She attended school in Gatesville. She began working for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in 1991 and retired in August 2014 after 23 years of service. In April 2016, she began working at the Sunshine Learning Academy. She loved to float in her pool, taking her camper to the lake, gardening, having BBQ’s with family and friends, and loving on her “babies” at the daycare. The love she had for her family cannot be measured, especially her love for her kids and grandkids. She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Balzen; and son, Brandon Holden. Marilynn is survived by her husband, William Coalston; daughters, Brandi Graham and boyfriend, Ricky Helms, Amber Tippit and husband, Cody, and Shannon Coalston; mother, Pat Balzen; brother, Terry Balzen and wife, Mickey; sister, Sandy Backstrom; grandchildren, Stetson and Kason Graham, Madilyn Holden, Jakson Tippit and Tannan Shuemake; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Marilynn loved with all her heart and in return was loved by so many. We will miss her dearly, but we are relieved that she is no longer in pain.
