Mack Wilkinson, age 77, of the Bee House community passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Gatesville Church of Christ, with Edward Schaub and Roy Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, October 21st at the funeral home. Mack was born on August 18, 1939 in the Stampede community of Coryell County, now part of Ft. Hood, to the late Boone and Leota White Wilkinson. He attended school in the Harmon and Pearl communities, graduating from Evant High School in 1957. After graduation, he went to Houston, working at Brown & Root Construction Company. He married Velma Jordan on March 4, 1961. After he retired from Brown & Root in 1984, they moved to the Bee House community, where he farmed and ranched. Mack loved his family and friends very much and was an avid sports fan, especially concerning his grandchildren. He never missed a game or track meet that they participated in. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing practical jokes on everyone. Most of all he loved his wife, Sug (Sugar). He was a member of the Pearl Church of Christ and attended the Pearl Community Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ronda Newton; and sister, Laverle Tennison. Mack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Velma Wilkinson; daughter, Debbie Brock and husband, Ted; sisters, Tommie Carswell, Mary Boudreaux; brothers, Ray Wilkinson, Jim Wilkinson, and Tim Wilkinson; six grandchildren, Zane, Ciera, Chris, Morgan, Jordan, and Sarah; and five great-grandchildren, Allison, Talon, Gentry, Jaxon, and Cannon.
