Rudean Watson Weaver, 92, of Richardson passed away at home on July 22, 2009. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Weaver Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Rudean Watson was born 19 October, 1916, in the farming community of Jonesboro, Texas, the only daughter of Rube and Annie Myrtle Scott Watson. She had a twin brother that lived only a few hours. Her family moved to Rule, Texas, when she was a small child where she graduated from high school in 1935. That fall the family moved back to Coryell County where she met Bob Weaver. They married January 1, 1936, and lived in Coryell County until 1949, when they moved to Odessa, Texas. After retiring they relocated to Mount Calm, Texas, and lived on a farm until Bob’s death in 1993. After his death, she lived with her daughter Sue and beloved son Jerry for two years then spent her final years with daughters Helen and Judy until her death on July 22, 2009. Rudean was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. As a wife, mother and homemaker she always stressed the importance of education and read to her children from their earliest memories. She would walk with her children to the library after moving to Odessa to encourage their reading. She was an excellent seamstress working ten years as a tailor in a man’s store and always making the clothes for her family. She multi-tasked before the word was invented working outside the home, keeping books for the family business, had children in grade school, high school and college, making all of the clothes for herself and daughters, taking care of the household, visited family, and one of her favorite roles, being a wonderful Granny. Not only did she do all the fun things with her grandchildren, but provided the same wise council with them as she had with her own children, leading by example. Her daughter Helen shared a home with Rudean for eight years when Judy joined them and made it a home of three strong women. The care and love they provided for “Momma” was a true gift from the heart. Her last years were made happier by two great-grandchildren, Clarissa and Rion who got to see their “Granny” every few days. They always brought a smile to her face, a kiss on her cheek and a special hug. She is survived by two brothers: Curtis Watson and wife Boots and Billy C. Watson and wife Shirley. Children: Bobby and Dianna Weaver, Grandchildren: Jim, Rozie and Robert Sam (preceded his mother in death) and Dorothy Weaver, Grandchildren: Dorothy Jo, Rene’ and Bud. Curtis and Glenda Weaver, Grandchildren: Laurie and Jeff Sue and Jerry Duke, Grandchildren: Bob, Ross, and Tanya Judy Draper, Grandchildren: Trey and Paige Helen Bozarth Fifteen Great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She will be welcomed in the Kingdom of God by her beloved husband Bob, special son Sam, her parents and brothers, Bud, Dick, Den, Scott and her twin.
