Ray Greenwood

Ray Greenwood, age 78, of Gatesville passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, 2016 at the funeral home. Ray was born on February 16, 1938 in Wilson, Oklahoma to the late Dolphis Carwin Greenwood and Leda Bell Hunziker Greenwood. He married Nancy Thornton on February 16, 1962. He served in the US Air Force from 1955 – 1958 during the cold war. Ray worked many years as a welder and mechanic for Odell Geer Construction. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Roma; and step-father, H.W. (Bill) Barnard. Ray is survived by his wife, Nancy Greenwood; children, David Greenwood, LaQuita Bauman and husband, Keith, and Montie Greenwood; seven grandchildren, Brittany Greenwood, Frank Greenwood, Amanda Farr and husband, Jeremy, Richard Easley and wife, Ashley, Michael Easley and wife, Crystal, Taylor Bauman, Darrell Greenwood and wife, Candice; 15 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kiersten, Ethan, Megan, Hayven, Twister, Zane, Ashley, Harlee, Kane, Nevaehly, Laiton, Braydn, Caleb, and Cody; brother, Willie Greenwood and wife, Roylou; sister, Faye Mills; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
