Bobby Dean Bruton

Bobby Dean Bruton, 81, of Gatesville, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Barclay officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Scott’s Funeral Home. Bob was born on May 17, 1928 to the late Jasper and Susie Hawkins Bruton. He married J. Annette Lowery on April 27, 1948. Bob was a Chef at Chateau Ville for 10 years, Vick’s Café in McGregor for 25 years, and made pies for Andy’s Restaurant in Gatesville. He created beautiful pies and would take them to the widows at Christmas. Bob was a good father to his son Ricky. Two things that he really enjoyed was drinking coffee and going to garage sales. He was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Ricky Bruton, an infant daughter, Brenda Joyce Bruton; a brother, Gary Bruton, and a sister, Neva Deuscher. Bob is survived by his wife Annette Bruton of Gatesville; sisters, Yvonne Sharpston of Beaumont and Sue Cook of Houston, Carolyn McDonald of Franklin, Margaret Schrimsher of Belton; one brother, Floyd Bruton of Montgomery; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the Mound Cemetery Assn. or to Live Oak Baptist Church.
