Virginia Annette Clarke Moore, age 79, of Gatesville passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Providence Hospice Care Center in Waco, Texas. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Gatesville. Virginia was born on November 16, 1937 in Bell County, Texas to the late Van G. Clarke and Valda W. Hatton Clarke. She attended school in Waco and graduated from Waco High School. She then attended North Texas State University where she met her future husband, James Rabon Balch, son of Rabon and Mabel Balch of Gatesville. They married in August 1958 and had two sons, James Bradley Balch and Blakely Clarke Balch. Virginia was a gifted teacher and loved seeing her students succeed. She and James taught school in South America with Don and Talou Edwards and had just retired from her teaching profession in 2014. She loved gardening and recently planted and harvested her own lavender field. But her favorite pass time was spending time with her granddaughter, Bailey. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James Balch; and son, Blakely Balch. Virginia is survived by her son, Bradley Balch and wife, Connie; and granddaughter, Bailey Balch.
