Kim Herring, age 46 of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Gatesville. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Coryell Community Church, with Pastor Terry Hill officiating. Kim was born on May 10, 1970 in Newton, Texas. She grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1988. She served in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1993 as a Senior Airman. She graduated from Regis College in Colorado Springs, Colorado with a B.S. Degree. She married Reed Herring on May 2, 1997. They resided in Beaumont, moving to Gatesville in 2001. She worked for Life Works in Austin as a social worker for the last 15 years. She loved watching her son playing guitar and daughter in cheerleading as well as her love for animals and golfing. She was a member of Coryell Community Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Asa Ray. She is survived by her husband, Reed; children, Rachel and Charlie Herring; mother, Melda Bartholdi and husband, David of Hemphill; brothers, James Ray and wife, Heather of Birmingham, AL and Michael Hart of Beaumont.
