John Wordsworth Vodrey III

John Wordsworth Vodrey III, age 65, of Gatesville, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Scott’s Funeral Home. John was born on May 3, 1951 in Bourne, Massachusetts to the late James R. Vodrey and Marvel Barr Vodrey. He attended High School in Copperas Cove. He married Carol Ann Young on May 1, 1971, in Copperas Cove. He served in the US Army for ten and a half years, and was honorably discharged in 1978. John and Carol moved to Gatesville in January of 1984. He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, and good-natured political discussion. John had a hand in many remodels done in and around the city of Gatesville. He was a member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Elizabeth Mraz John is survived by his wife, Carol Vodrey; daughter, Michelle Vodrey Robinson, and husband Jeff; brothers, Gibson V.C. Vodrey and Marven R. Vodrey; grandchildren, Olivia Anne Robinson; and god-children, Heather Gribble, Frank Johnson, and Jaycee Lynn Moses.
