Christine Brock

Christine Brock, age 97, of Gatesville passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Nathan Booth officiating. Visitation with the family will follow services at the funeral home. Private interment will be at Restland Cemetery. Christine was born on April 20, 1919 in the Dahlia community of Limestone County, Texas to the late James Shilling and Virginia Tennessee Bugg Shilling. She married Jesse Brock in 1934. They resided in Sweetwater for many years where she worked in retail sales. They moved to Gatesville in 1986. She was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Brock in 2010; sons, Kenneth Richard Brock in 2012 and Randall Royce Brock in 2015; granddaughter, Dr. Leigh Browning in 2015; and grandson, Ricky Brock in 1997. Christine is survived by her son, Garland R. Brock and wife, Winnie of Springtown; daughter-in-law, Patsy Brock of Crockett; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
