Shirley Goodwin

Shirley Goodwin, age 64, of Moody, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Shirley was born on November 19, 1952 in Borger, Texas to the late Albert and Fran Borchardt. She attended school in Malakoff, Texas. She married Larry Joe Goodwin on August 14, 1969 in Garland, Texas. Shirley was very family oriented. She loved cooking for her family, not small meals either; she fixed enough to feed an army. She also loved working in her flower beds. Shirley loved the Lord, reading her Bible, and watching Jimmy Swaggert. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Joe; parents; brother, Robert Earl Borchardt; and her in-laws. Shirley is survived by her daughters, Shelley Avila and husband, David, Tanya Scott, and Kelley Jones and wife, Candi; sons, Joey Goodwin and Trey Goodwin and wife, Chelsie; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister; two brothers; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a BIG thank you to Kindred Hospice for their care.
