Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Blanchard

Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Blanchard, age 70, of Gatesville, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at her home. Services will be held at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Florence, Arizona. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at the Florence Cemetery and potluck luncheon at Phelen Hall on March 29th, 2017. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Scott's Funeral Home in Gatesville. Bobbie was born on October 26, 1946 in Florence, Arizona, to the late Jacob Charles Aguilar and Rose Marie Ruiz. She grew up and went to school in Florence, Arizona, graduating from high school in 1964. She started working in high school at Home Abstract Title Company and after graduation, she continued in that line of work in California and Phoenix, Arizona. She married Tommy Blanchard on July 30, 1982. They moved to Gatesville, Texas on April 1st, 1990, where she worked at Medical Plastics Laboratory and has been employed until her death with TDCJ-ID at the Mountain View Unit for over 20 years. She was a devout member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gatesville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jacob Marshall Aguilar. Bobbie is survived by her husband, Tommy Blanchard; sons, Jacob R. (Jake) Aguilar-Probasco, Clinton D. Blanchard and wife, Cherie; step-daughter, Shanna Martinez and husband, Ralph; sisters, Stella Avenenti, Antonette (Toni) Lee and husband, Gary; seven grandchildren, Hannah Aguilar-Probasco, Landry Blanchard, Liam Blanchard, Erica Sichling, Brittani Sichling, Preston Sichling and Heath Sichling. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gatesville, Texas, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Catholic Church in Florence, Arizona or Florence Cemetery in Florence, Arizona.
