Jeanne Cohagan

Jeanne Cohagan, age 74, of Gatesville passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. Funeral services will be 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Scott’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Jeanne was born on August 5, 1942 in Gatesville, Texas to Winfred Cummings and Josie Kinsey Cummings. She attended school in Gatesville, graduating in 1960. She continued her education at Sam Houston State and Mary Hardin Baylor. She married Harold Cohagan on August 10, 1963. She began her teaching career at Mound, Texas and State School for Boys. She owned ABC Preschool for many years. She was a teacher at Gatesville I.S.D. While there, she obtained her Special Education Certification, so she could teach special education. She retired in 2014. Jeanne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, and shopping for shoes. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was preceded in death by her parents. Jeanne is survived by her husband, Harold Gene Cohagan; daughter, Wendy Pray and husband, Darin; brother, Fred Cummings and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Macy Lee-Ann Baugus and husband, Byron; and great-granchild, Baylee Grace Baugus.
