Dorothy Katheryne George

Dorothy Katheryne “Kaz” George, age 85, of Burleson, Texas, passed away peacefully from this life Sunday, April 9, 2017. Graveside services will be held in Gatesville, Texas at Restland Cemetery on April 12, 2017. She was laid to rest beside her daughter, Brenda Kay Bonner Vroman, of Gatesville, Texas. Katheryne was born December 28, 1931 in Ranger, Texas to the late Edwin and Myrtle George, Jr. She attended Abilene Christian Academy where she met and married Jimmy Ray Bonner. They began their family in College Station where her husband, Jimmy, attended Texas A&M. Katheryne was a devoted wife and mother throughout their 18 years of marriage. Upon moving to the DFW area, Katheryne began her career in the medical profession. She worked in various hospitals throughout the Metroplex. She served the public with sincere care and concern as an administrative assistant for over 30 years. Anyone in the company of Katheryne, (more affectionately known as Kaz instead of Granny) knew immediately that her glass was never half-full or half-empty – it was always overflowing with kindness, love, and eternal optimism. She will be dearly missed by those that were fortunate to have their life touched by her. She was preceded in death by her brother, Morris Beeman George, in 2006. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Janna Faye Bonner Graham and husband, Maurice Keith Graham of Burleson; son, Bucky Ray Bonner of Port Aransas; granddaughter, Kori Shea Kortis of Gatesville; and great-grandson, Kutter Kortis of Gatesville.
