Novis Lavalliene (Jo) Nichols, age 97, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Private family graveside services will be held at Turnersville Cemetery. Jo was born on October 24, 1919 in Turnersville, Texas to the late Jim and Jonnie Morris Epps. She graduated from Turnersville High School and later married Wesley Nichols. She was a seamstress, assistant to the Coryell County Clerk, and a business clerk for Dr. Kermit Jones. She loved to sew and visit with her friends and family. She attended First Baptist Church in Gatesville. She has resided in Waco for the last several years. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jim Epps, Hugh Epps, Barney Epps, and Clovis Epps. She is survived by her son, Odis Nichols and wife, Donna of Boerne, one granddaughter, Leah Schifferns and husband, Chylo; two great-granddaughters, Adaline and Stellee Schifferns; brother-in-law, R.D. Nichols and wife, Myra; sister-in-laws, Lettie Mae Robinett and husband, Audaine, Doris Nichols, and Rena Epps; and several nieces and nephews.
