Virginia Lynn Scott

Virginia Lynn Scott, age 75, of Gatesville, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Virginia was born on October 31, 1941 in Fletcher, Oklahoma to the late William Medaris Pence and Thelma Johnson Pence. She attended school in Fletcher, OK, graduating in May of 1959. She married Jimmie Scott on June 18, 1959 in Fletcher, OK. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved taking care of her family. Virginia was the Home Room Mom for all three of her children during school, as well as Team Mom for every one of Gordon’s sports teams. She was also the family seamstress, and was an excellent one at that, making a sport coat for Jim and quilt tops for the kids. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Virginia is survived by her husband, Jim Scott; daughters, Robin Elaine Twidt and husband, Kevin of Midland, TX and Beverly Lynn Fennell, and husband, Tim of Midlothian, Texas; son, Gordon Wayne Scott and wife, Dawn of Moore, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Joshua Scott Fennell, Jeremy Ray Twidt, Matthew Aaron Fennell, James Eric Twidt, Courtney Fennell Gonzales, Kyle Bryce Twidt, Jared Mikel Scott, and Tamara Colten Scott; five great-grandchildren, and brother, Glen Edward Pence of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
